That's right. This is NOT a merch store. It is a proper Eco t-shirt brand making awesome designs for surfers and skaters and generating profits for our mothership. Club members will have access to unique designs and special discounts. Eco t-shirts? Yes thats right. We will use only t-shirts with sustainable cotton or recycled materials. MPC cares for this beautiful world we live in. Even though the focus isn't around the NFTs, there will still be some t-shirt designs available for you to show off your NFTs. Yes thats right! The culmination of our project is to start not just one hostel, but a whole Modern Pirates Club hostel chain with hostels all around the world. We plan to have 1 hostel within 1 year and a half of selling out this collection, 3 hostels in 5 years and 10 hostels in 10 years. We are a club with long term plans. For the moment we have scouts looking for the perfect location to start the first hostel. Once the collection sells out we will start working on creating it. Profits from the Hostel will be added to the club's community wallet. But the hostel will be done from our side (without using any club funds). Read more in our white-paper.

The community wallet for the club is called The Mothership. Here is where all the funds of the club will be stored. The Mothership will have several income streams to keep funding it. As the club grows so will the income streams that go towards it. This will result in a snowball effect that will make it possible to invest in more projects that will result in even more profits. The mothership will be funded with 5% of the minting value + 1% of the resale value (royalties) + Hostel profits + Surf T-shirt Brand profits + more funds from our second collection coming in Q4 of 2022. Read more about the income streams in our whitepaper. Through the DAO we can all propose and then vote what to do with the funds that are gathered in The Mothership. Either re-invest them, donate them to a good cause, throw pirate parties around the world, or simply give them out as dividends. NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are digital items that exist on things called "Blockchains". Non Fungible means that they are unique and cannot be traded for something "equal" as there is nothing equal. Something fungible is for example regular money: a 10 note can be changed with two notes of 5. NFTs have the unique property that they can be owned by anyone's wallet and anyone in the world is able to verify that they are the owner of that NFT. Modern Pirates Club is a collection of 8888 NFTs on the Solana Blockchain. Each NFT acting as a membership card to the Modern Pirates Club. Owning a Modern Pirates Club NFT allows you to participate in our private group, vote in our DAO and receive benefits from our community wallet (that receives income from the Hostels and the Surf T-shirt brand).

Firstly, you will need a MetaMask wallet with some Ethereum on it. To do so you'll need to download the MetaMask extension for your web browser or smart phone, create an account and then add some Ethereum. More information on how to download Meta Mask or a walkthrough video with all the information for beginners. Once you have a Meta Mask account with some Ethereum in it, you can mint. Once we announce minting is open, you simply click on the Mint Button at the top of the page, connect your wallet and click on "mint". But, minting will only be open for a short period of time until all the collection sells out. Also most of the collection will be sold privately to whitelisted members. To be whitelisted join our discord group. Once you mint your pirate, you'll be shown your new Modern Pirates Club NFT. You can then access it on OpenSea.

NFT Minting is the process by which the digital art or becomes a part of the Solana blockchain. Minting is the act of initially assigning an NFT to an owner. Until an NFT is minted, it is not tradable on secondary marketplaces like OpenSea. When you "mint" a Modern Pirates Club NFT you are making the NFT yours and getting access to the MPC club.
